Have you ever longed for a local restaurant that encourages you to bring your best friend? Lazy Dog is the place for you! Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar, located just across from the Brea Mall, is a great place to just eat, drink, and relax from any day and the dogs outside are the best way to complete the experience. As you walk in, you are transported to a rustic cabin where your food craving is finally satisfied. Guests can eat outside where dogs may be with their owners enjoying a meal, or inside where you are immersed in the pastoral ambiance.
Personally, I am always on the lookout for places to go with my dog. That’s why ever since I found Lazy Dog so close by all those years ago, it has become one of my go-to restaurants when going out with my dog. One of my most recent visits to Lazy Dog was for my dog’s birthday. We sat out on the patio, as all parties with dogs do, and took a look at the dog menu they offered. Dogs get a complimentary bowl of water and have three meal options: hamburger patty with brown rice, grilled chicken with brown rice, and plain brown rice. For my dog, we ordered the hamburger patty with rice and she absolutely loved it!
Another reason people love Lazy Dog is because of their amazing happy hour deals! They have happy hour 6 days a week: Monday-Friday 3-6 pm, and Sunday-Thursday 9-close. The Happy Hour menu includes drinks such as their flat rock chardonnay and their house-made sangria, and appetizers like their Mini Brick Oven Pizza and their Cajun Fries. The Happy Hour menu items are some of the most popular items at Lazy Dog.
Of course, the food at Lazy Dog is some of the best in Brea! They have all kinds of meals for any time of day. The brunch menu has a variety of options like the Breakfast Burger and the Veggie Omelet. My personal favorite is the Rocky Road Pancake. This is a chocolate pancake with Nutella sauce, marshmallows, white chocolate chips and peanut butter nuggets. Paired with some hot tea, this is one of my favorite meals.
The lunch and dinner menu is just as good as the brunch menu. With salads, soups, burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, noodles, and more, Lazy Dog has something for everybody! I’m a noodle-lover, so the Fettuccine Alfredo is one of my favorites. This dish features parmesan chardonnay cream sauce that you can add chicken or shrimp to. Another favorite of mine is the Grilled Lemon Chicken. This entrée consists of marinated and grilled boneless chicken breasts, cauliflower mash, sautéed green beans, heirloom tomatoes, almond-walnut crumble, and tahini sauce on the side.
Lazy Dog’s burgers are some of the most popular menu items, as well. The Baja California Burger is simply delicious. It is a grilled half-pound beef patty, with guacamole, hatch chiles, jack, roasted jalapeno-lime aioli, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and red onion. The guacamole is the perfect touch to this classic. Another popular one is the All-American burger, which is the first option listed in the burger section of the menu. This burger boasts two grilled quarter-pound beef patties, American cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and house-made bark and bite sauce. Everyone loves this mouth-watering burger and I just need to try it next time!
My favorite dessert at Lazy Dog must be the Banana Pudding. This is their house-made banana cream pudding, with old school Nilla Wafers, sliced banana, and whipped cream. I’m a big fan of anything banana, and this dessert is definitely one to try. The smoothness of the pudding is perfectly combined with the wafers, creating the best dessert I never knew I craved!
As you can see, Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar is an eatery for everyone. Also, the staff is great; I have enjoyed the hospitality from every person I’ve encountered there, so far. If you need a place to go with all your friends and family, including the furry ones, Lazy Dog is the perfect choice.
