The Chop Stops Here!

November 1, 2019

Want to eat healthy AND enjoy your meal? Look no further than Chop Stop! They specialize in providing customized salads quickly! Plus, the large portions are very filling.  Located on Imperial Hwy, Chop Stop just opened in Brea this past summer and is a great option if you want a quick meal that not only tastes good but is also good for your health.

The best part about salad, is that you can have it at any time of day. Whether for a meal or a large snack, a good salad can satisfy any craving. Also, my favorite thing about Chop Stop’s salads is that all the ingredients are chopped small to a size you can easily pick up with your fork. Too often have I gone to other restaurants with large pieces of lettuce that won’t stay on the fork.

You can customize your salad or choose one of their standardized salads, similar to the setup in a Subway, for example. When customizing, you’ll first pick your green. You can choose from romain, iceberg, spinach, kale, quinoa or a combination of any two. Then, you can choose up to 6 toppings of vegetables and/or fruits. After your toppings, you choose your protein. My go-to is always turkey or chicken. For the vegetarians and vegans out there, your choice of protein may be eggs or tofu. Next you can choose your beans, grains, cheeses, and crunches. My favorite of the crunches are the tortilla strips. Lastly, you pick your dressing, they have various creamy, vinaigrette, and fat-free options for dressing which are all delicious!

If you’re not the customizing type, there are numerous standard salads and chopurritos you can choose from! Of course, you can even customize the standard menu items. My go-to standard salad is the Viva Mexico Chop. This salad has romaine lettuce, roasted chicken, black beans, cheddar cheese, tomato, tortilla strips, and jalapeños. I’m personally not a fan of jalapeños, so I like to switch it out with another vegetable.

The chopurritos are basically burrito bowls that start with a base of cilantro lime rice and seasoned black or white beans. Then they add six toppings and a garnish of lettuce. My favorite of these is the Southwestern Chopurrito. This bowl contains double roasted chicken, jalapeños, tomatoes, tortilla strips, and cheddar cheese. Again, I like to switch out the jalapeños for another vegetable.

As you can see, there is an abundance of options for your meal at Chop Stop. From experience, I can assure you that there is no limit to getting the salad or Chopurrito of your dreams!
